CBD is the One Thing Missing from Your Beauty Routine

Oils have made a huge comeback in the beauty industry. Although many of us were told our whole lives to buy oil-free products to avoid breakouts and other skin issues, recent studies have shown that oils are actually super beneficial. You probably already have added coconut and argan oils into your routine somewhere— and for good reason; both are the bomb. Oil-based cleansers have made a giant comeback, proving to be a miracle product for those who struggle with problem areas, including yours truly whose skin has improved considerably since changing from harsh chemical-based products to simple, organic oils. And after experimenting with some CBD-infused beauty products, I’ve come to realize it’s the one oil I’ve been missing from my routine this whole time.
CBD as an antioxidant can be more potent than Vitamin C, E, A, or omega 3 fatty acids— all of which are present in CBD oil already. This powerful combination helps protect the skin from free radicals, which can lead to— gasp!— wrinkles.
According to dermatologists Whitney Bowe, MD, and Jeanette Jacknin, MD, CBD oil’s effects on the skin have been clinically proven. Both agree CBD oil contains anti-aging and anti-inflammatory benefits. “Studies have shown that the cannabinoids like CBD in marijuana are anti-inflammatory and anti-aging and topical CBD has proven helpful for acne, eczema, and psoriasis,” Jacknin explained in a recent interview. “Hemp seed oil is reputed to be the most unsaturated oil derived from the plant kingdom, so it is less pore clogging but a great moisturizer for dry, cracked skin.”
CBD oil is now being considered as a potential therapy for conditions such as dry skin and even skin cancer. If applied directly to troubled areas, CBD oil can work where it’s needed most without being absorbed into the bloodstream. It's a simple and necessary addition to your beauty routine, and your skin will absolutely thank you.
